Newisys® Overview
Additional Information
The Newisys EvolutionNewisys was originally founded with the mission of bringing advanced server technology to markets based on the AMD Opteron™ processor. In response to customer demand and market opportunity, Newisys expanded its mission to include the design and development of advanced server technologies based on the Intel® Xeon® family of processors. In January 2006, Sanmina-SCI® acquired Adaptec’s OEM block-based storage products, formerly known as Eurologic® Systems. Sanmina-SCI has transitioned the Adaptec Colorado design team into the Newisys organization. Through this acquisition, the Colorado Springs Storage Technology Design Center, plus a number of established storage products from Adaptec, was added to the Newisys portfolio. This followed the December 2005 acquisition of Adaptec’s storage manufacturing facility in Singapore that provided Sanmina-SCI with enhanced capabilities in storage manufacturing. The foundation of the Newisys Storage design solutions is a Flexible Storage Architecture (FSA). FSA is a solid set of storage building blocks that include standard chassis, backplanes and drive carriers that can be intermixed in a number of creative ways, allowing for maximum flexibility and time-to-market advantages for OEM customers. In addition, these products can be leveraged with Newisys server building blocks to deliver a full range of unique server and storage solutions. Today, Newisys is comprised of proven, top-notch design and development experts with unprecedented external storage hardware and/or software design capabilities located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Technology LeadershipToday, Newisys is well-known for accelerating time-to-market while delivering the most cost-competitive designs to its customers. Newisys’ block-based storage designs offer innovative and cost-effective solutions to the storage market. With a core competency in accelerating customers’ time-to-market, Newisys Storage technologies offer the flexible platforms on which customers may layer their value-add components and specialized software solutions. Current Storage SolutionsThe Newisys Data Storage NDS-2120 expansion array enables simple capacity extension, with linkage via standard serial attached SCSI (SAS) protocol and enclosure services linked via SES firmware. The NDS-2120 is a perfect expansion companion for other Newisys Data Storage products such as the NDS-8200 Storage Application Server, as well as the NDS-5120 FC and NDS-5125 iSCSI storage arrays. The Newisys Data Storage NDS-2240 expansion array enables 2.5" hard drive and solid state drive extensions with linkage via standard serial attached SCSI (SAS) protocol and enclosure services linked via SES firmware. The NDS-2240 is a perfect expansion companion for other Newisys Data Storage products such as the NDS-8200 storage application server, as well as the NDS-5120 FC and NDS-5125 iSCSI storage arrays. The Newisys Data Storage NDS-5125 RAID Storage array includes all the features required in today’s demanding IT environments. Data is easily moved, managed and protected with features such as online capacity expansion, RAID level migration, global hot sparing, battery back-up protection, multiple host support and hardware redundancy. The NDS-5125 can be expanded in a cost-effective way via its companion, the NDS-2120 storage expansion. The Newisys NDS-8200 SAS/SATA storage application array is the ideal platform to build a full-featured, high-quality and cost-effective SAN, iSCSI and NAS appliance or other storage applications. The NDS-8200 can be customized with a number of options designed to maximize your value proposition to storage data center customers. The NDS-8200 can be expanded in a cost-effective way via its companion, the NDS-2120 Storage Expansion. |
